The killer
Hemingway has written this story, the killer,
in a beautiful and realistic way. This story is about two professional killers
and expected murder of a retired boxer, Ole Anderson” this story is also about
a restaurant “Hennery’s Lunch room. Hennery’s lunch room is situated at a small
town of an American state, Chicago. It has complete discipline. But it is also
a favorite place for killers and criminals.
One evening two killers Al and Max enter the
Hennery’s lunch room. Their faces are different but they look like twins in
their same dress. They are wearing tight overcoats. They order the waiter
George to serve them with heavy food. But the waiter George refuses to do so.
On this, both the killers get angry. However, they have to eat light food, i.e.
ham and egg sandwiches.
One of the killers Max asks the waiter George why he is looking at him. On the other hand Ole pushes the cook Sam and servant Nick into the kitchen at the gun point. He ties them together and puts a towel into their mouth. This shows that their behavior towards the staff of hennery’s lunch room is very harsh and cruel. Then the killers tell them that they have come here to kill ole Anderson. They do not have any enmity with Ole. But they want to do so to please one of their friends. Although murder does not take place at the restaurant, yet they leave the atmosphere of fear behind them.

قاتل "آل اور میکس" ہنری لانچ روم میں داخل ہوتے ہیں۔ ان کے چہرے ایک
جیسے نہیں ہوتے ہیں، مگر وہ ایک جیسے لباس میں جڑوان بھائیوں کی طرح نظر آتے ہیں۔
انھوں نے تنگ اوور کوٹ پہنے ہوتے ہیں۔ وہ ویٹر جارج کو حکم دیتے ہیں کہ ان کو
بھاری کھانا دیا جائے۔ لیکن ویٹر جارج ایسا کرنے سے انکار کر دیتا ہے۔ اس پر دونوں
قاتل ناراض ہو جاتے ہیں۔ تا ہم انھیں ہلکی پھلکی غذا کھانا پڑتی ہے یعنی کی سور کا
گوشت اور انڈے کا سینڈوچ۔
قاتلوں میں
ایک میکس ویٹر جارج سے کہتا ہے کہ وہ اسے کیوں گھوررہا ہے۔ پھر قاتلوں میں سے آل
باورچی (سیم) اور نوکر (نک) کو گن پوائنٹ پر کچن میں داخل کرتا ہے۔ وہ انھیں اکٹھا
باندھ دیتا ہے اور اس کے منہ میں تولیہ ٹھونس دیتا ہے۔ یہ چیزیں ظاہر کرتی ہیں کہ
ہنریکے لانچ روم کے سٹاف کے ساتھ ان کا رویہ سخت اور ظالمانہ ہوتا ہے۔ پھر قاتل
انھیں بتاتے ہیں کہ وہ آلااینڈرسن کو قتل کرنے کےلیے یہاں آئے ہیں۔ وہ آلا اینڈ
رسن کے ساتھ دشمنی نہیں رکھتے بلکہ محض وہ اپنے دوستوں میں سے ایک کو خوش کرنے
کےلیے ایسا کرنا چاہتے ہیں۔ اگرچہ ریسٹورینٹ میں قتل رونما نہیں ہوتا لیکن وہ اپنے
پیچھے خوف کی فضا کو چھوڑ جاتے ہیں۔
