Bertrand Russell is a modern thinker of our age. In this essay ,, Science and Values,, he has expressed his views on science and its effects on human life. In his views, science is a good servant but a bad master for mankind. Science is not harmful in itself because it is the knowledge of life. If it is used unwisely, it can promote two evils. They are tyranny and war. Science has invented deadly weapons, chemical gases and atom boom etc., to kill the mankind. These negatives qualities can destroy the world at any time.

دونوںبرئیوںکوفاروغ سےسکتی ہے۔وہ تشدداورجنگ ہیں۔سائنس انسانیت کومارنےکےلیےمہلک
ہتھیاروں،کیمیائی گیسوںاورایٹم بم وغیرہ کوایجادکرچکی ہے۔یہ منفی خوبیاںکسی بھی
وقت دنیاکوتباہ کرسکتی ہیں۔
Bertrand Russell suggests that this world can
be made a happy place. If we eliminate war, control population and introduce
true democracy in the world .But science has also advantages for mankind, it
can abolish poverty and excessive hours of labor. Science has introduced to us
modern method of agricultural that is why we are able to produce more food.

Science has played a great role in the field
of medicine. Now we have controlled death rate among children with the help of
vaccination . Law and order situation has also been controlled in big cities
with the help of science. It has also given the art of finger prints reading to
detect crimes.

made the people open minded and tolerate. It has made him impartial and
realistic.
